Proudly Supported by the Boyle Family & McCafferty’s Bars
The Boyle name is synonymous with Irish rallying, widely respected for its longstanding commitment to and passion for motorsport both in Ireland and internationally. Declan Boyle, alongside his sons Michael Boyle and Matthew Boyle, has competed at the highest levels for many years, achieving notable success in both the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship and the Irish National Rally Championship.
Declan Boyle and the Boyle Family Legacy in Irish Tarmac Rallying
Declan Boyle is one of the most successful and respected figures in Irish tarmac rallying. Based in Lettermacaward, County Donegal, he has competed at the highest level for decades in both national and regional championships, driving top-spec World Rally Cars (WRC) and Rally2 machinery. Renowned for his speed on home roads, one of his standout achievements came in 2014 with victory at the prestigious Donegal International Rally.
Rallying is a true family legacy for the Boyles. Declan’s sons, Michael and Matthew, have both risen through the ranks to become top competitors, frequently competing alongside—and against—their father at the highest level. In 2025, the family made history by sweeping the West Coast Rally Championship standings: Declan finished 1st overall, Michael 2nd, and Matthew 3rd—an unprecedented achievement in Irish rallying.
Declan’s career includes 26 rally wins and six championship titles, among them three National Tarmac Championship awards and the 2014 Irish Tarmac Championship. Since debuting at the Galway Summer Rally in 1997, he claimed his first win at the Midlands Rally in 2010 and most recently won the Wexford Rally in 2024, before securing the 2025 West Coast Championship title.
Michael Boyle began his career at the Donegal Harvest Rally in 2015, winning the Border Junior Rally in 2016 and the Donegal International Junior Rally soon after. He claimed his first senior victory at the Wexford Rally in 2025, followed by another win at the Fastnet Rally, finishing 2nd overall in the 2025 West Coast Championship.
Matthew Boyle, who debuted at the Birr Rally in 2022, has quickly established himself with multiple class awards and strong overall results, including 3rd place finishes at both the Fastnet and Mayo rallies. He completed the family’s historic result by finishing 3rd overall in the 2025 West Coast Championship.
Together, the Boyle family has built one of the strongest and most competitive legacies in Irish rallying, defined by consistency, success, and a shared passion for the sport.
Beyond motorsport, the Boyle family has built an impressive international hospitality business. In 2017, they acquired their first pub in Donegal Town, laying the foundation for what has since become a rapidly expanding brand across Ireland, the United Kingdom, Spain, and the United Arab Emirates.
McCafferty’s Pubs, rooted in that original Donegal Town establishment, have grown into a globally recognised name celebrated for delivering authentic Irish atmospheres, live traditional music, and world-class sports viewing. Today, the brand encompasses more than 16 locations worldwide, each reflecting the warmth and character of a traditional Irish pub.
A significant milestone in their journey came when their Dubai venue at Jumeirah Village Circle was officially recognised by Guinness World Records as the largest Irish bar in the world, spanning 29,831 square feet and featuring 148 taps. This achievement highlights the family’s ambition, vision, and dedication, as well as the invaluable contribution of their exceptional team.
Despite their international growth, the brand remains deeply connected to its roots. The original McCafferty’s Bar in Donegal Town continues to embody the heritage and community spirit that inspired its success, drawing on the rich tradition of the local pub scene.
It is with sincere appreciation that we acknowledge the Boyle family and McCafferty’s Pubs for their continued support, guidance, and commitment as our main sponsor for the season ahead.
