Circuit of Ireland Rally – Northern Ireland
The Circuit of Ireland Rally 2026 was one of the most exciting rallies of the season and one I was really looking forward to attending. This rally took place from Thursday 2nd April to Saturday 4th April 2026, with stages across Northern Ireland and plenty of fast roads and tricky conditions.
After attending Galway, Mayo, West Cork and Birr earlier in the season, the Circuit of Ireland was another brilliant chance for me to practise my photography and capture even more rally action.
The Circuit of Ireland is one of the oldest and most famous rallies in Ireland. It attracts top drivers every year and is known for fast tarmac stages and challenging conditions.

Because of its history and popularity, it’s always a special rally to attend and photograph.
The Circuit of Ireland Rally gave me a great chance to photograph cars on fast tarmac roads. Some corners were very quick, while others were tight and technical, making them perfect for action shots.
During this rally, I focused on:
There were lots of exciting moments where cars came through at high speed, and those always make brilliant photos.
The rally finished with an incredibly close result, with the winner taking victory by just half a second, making it one of the closest finishes in the rally’s history.
These drivers delivered an incredible performance across the stages, making it an exciting rally to watch and photograph.
One of the best things about the Circuit of Ireland Rally was the variety of stages. Every location felt different, which made photography even more interesting.

Many rally fans look forward to this event every year because it always delivers exciting action.
One of my favourite moments was capturing a car sliding slightly through a fast corner while staying fully in control. Getting the timing right made it one of my favourite photos from the rally.
Another highlight was seeing the service crews working between stages. It’s always interesting to see how quickly teams can repair cars and get them ready to go again.

Every rally helps me improve my skills and confidence as a photographer. The Circuit of Ireland Rally was another great event where I practised timing, positioning, and capturing fast action.
I really enjoy following the rally season and learning more at every event I attend.
