Mayo Stages Rally
The Mayo Stages Rally was another exciting event in the rally calendar and a great chance for me to get more experience taking rally photos. Held on 1st March 2026, this rally brought plenty of fast cars, tricky stages, and great atmosphere for rally fans.
After starting the season at Galway, the Mayo Stages Rally gave me another opportunity to practise my photography and capture more action shots from the side of the stages.
The Mayo Stages Rally is well known for its challenging roads and competitive driving. Even though it takes place over just one day, there’s loads of action packed into the schedule.

Even with early starts and long days, rallies like this are always worth it once the cars start coming through the stages.
This rally gave me another great chance to improve my rally photography skills. Every rally is different, and Mayo had some tricky corners that made it exciting to watch and photograph.

There were some brilliant moments where cars came through sideways, kicking up mud and gravel — exactly the kind of action I love photographing.
One of the best parts of the Mayo Stages Rally was seeing the variety of rally cars taking part. Some were modern rally cars, while others had their own unique styles and colours.

Every time I attend a rally, I learn more about where to stand, when to press the shutter, and how to improve my photos.
The Mayo Stages Rally is a popular event because it delivers loads of action in a single day. It’s known for:
Even though it’s a shorter rally than some others, it still brings plenty of excitement for fans and photographers.
One of my favourite moments from the rally was watching cars come into a tight corner at speed and slide through before accelerating away. Getting a photo at exactly the right moment felt brilliant.
Another highlight was seeing the teams working on the cars in the service area. It’s always interesting to see what happens between stages and how quickly teams can fix problems.

Each rally helps me improve my skills and confidence as a photographer. The Mayo Stages Rally was another brilliant event where I learned more about capturing fast action and choosing the right locations.
